Kimberly Richman is a Full-Time Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of San Francisco's College of Arts and Sciences. She collaborates with the USF School of Law's Racial Justice Clinic and has expertise in criminology, gender and sexuality, social justice, and inequalities in the criminal legal process.
- Education: PhD and MA in Criminology, Law, and Society from UC Irvine; BA from Pitzer College.
- Research: Focuses on legal consciousness, parole/reentry, incarceration/rehabilitation, and gender/sexuality intersections in law.
Her recent work examines remorse narratives in parole hearings and transgender parole experiences. She co-founded the reentry nonprofit Alliance for CHANGE. Awards include the Richard Tewksbury Award (2020) and Edwin Sutherland Distinguished Book Award. Media appearances span topics like trauma in child incarceration and criminal justice analysis.
