Marcus M. Kondkar serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology at Loyola University New Orleans, where he has held faculty positions since 2000 and previously chaired Women's Studies.

Research Focus: Dr. Kondkar specializes in criminology, sociology of law, and sociological theory with emphasis on incarceration patterns, prisoner reentry, and life without parole sentencing. His work employs geospatial analysis to examine neighborhood violence correlations and investigates gendered pathways to incarceration, particularly through studies on sexual coercion among college populations and post-Katrina social justice frameworks.
