John Wooldredge is a Professor in the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Illinois (1986). His research focuses on institutional corrections (prison violence, program impacts, restrictive housing), criminal case processing (sentencing disparities, recidivism), and quantitative methods. He has led NIJ-funded studies on reentry programs and restrictive housing policies.

Research Interests:
His work examines prison systems, including inmate violence, correctional officer well-being, and long-term effects of incarceration on employment. He also studies sentencing disparities and the intersection of micro- and macro-level factors in criminal justice outcomes.
