Nicole Zarrett

Nicole Zarrett is Professor and Chair of Psychology at University of South Carolina and Co-Director of Behavioral Medicine Research group. Her NIH-funded research develops innovative physical activity interventions in after-school settings to promote adolescent health and well-being, particularly in underserved communities.

Research focuses on:

• Contextual affordances of youth settings
• Multilevel systems linking activity participation to development
• Obesity prevention through motivational programs

Leads Connect through PLAY trial promoting physical activity through social development. Recipient of NIH funding, RWJ Foundation grants, and multiple teaching awards.
