Nicole Yokum (she/they) is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at St. Olaf College, joining in Fall 2023. She holds a dual-title PhD in Philosophy and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Penn State, with bachelor's and master's degrees from Dartmouth College.
Her research intersects feminist philosophy, philosophy of race, and critical theory, emphasizing the politics and ethics of affect (e.g., anger, indifference) and coalition politics. She has published in journals like Philosophy and Social Criticism, Journal of Speculative Philosophy, and contributed to Feminism and the Early Frankfurt School, with forthcoming work in Hypatia, Oxford Handbook of Adorno, and The Dialectics of Freedom: The Critical Theory of Angela Davis.
