Nicole Stewart

Nicole Stewart serves as an Adjunct Professor and Lead Research Coordinator at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), contributing to the nationwide HEALthy Brain and Child Development study. She is actively pursuing a PhD in Medical Sociology at UAB to advance toward her goal of becoming a full-time professor.

Her educational qualifications include:

• Bachelor's in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama
• Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi
• Master of Arts in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary
• Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham

Dr. Stewart's research focuses on Medical Sociology and Social Work, emphasizing child and family welfare systems, neonatal ICU interventions, and faith-integrated helping professions. She is deeply committed to mentoring students as compassionate 'helpers' who serve communities through both professional practice and Christian values.

As Lead Research Coordinator for the HEALthy Brain study, she oversees critical longitudinal research on early childhood development. Her professional experience spans child protection services, school-based social work, and neonatal medical social work as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Alabama.
