Robert Stewart

Dr. Robert Stewart is a researcher in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in maternal-fetal medicine and complications of pregnancy. He holds a medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Parkland Health and Hospital System and UT Southwestern, followed by a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine. His research focuses on HIV in pregnancy, opioid use, and maternal cardiac physiology, particularly using cardiac MRI to study cardiovascular changes during pregnancy. Dr. Stewart is the primary investigator for UT Southwestern’s participation in the North American Fetal Therapy Network, which addresses complex fetal disorders.

His clinical practice is based in Plano at the UT Southwestern Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic at Children’s Medical Center at Legacy, collaborating with community OB/GYNs to manage high-risk pregnancies. The Legacy location provides multidisciplinary care with access to cardiology and neurology specialists, as well as advanced neonatal ICU facilities at the nearby William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital.
