Nicole Piasecki

Nicole Piasecki serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Colorado Denver's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She has been teaching writing, rhetoric, and technology courses since 2006, specializing in composition and creative writing instruction.

Dr. Piasecki earned her MFA in creative writing from Colorado State University, which forms the foundation of her expertise in literary arts and composition pedagogy. Her educational background directly informs her teaching approach across multiple writing genres and formats.

Her primary research and teaching interests focus on creative writing, particularly poetry and nonfiction forms. She has extensive experience in composition pedagogy through Core Composition I and II courses. Her work also explores digital storytelling and the intersection of technology with contemporary writing practices. As a practitioner-scholar, she actively engages with writing forms through both teaching and her own creative work.

Nicole serves as a consulting editor for nonfiction at Copper Nickel literary magazine and as an editorial consultant at Colorado Review, demonstrating her active engagement with the literary community beyond the university setting.
