Nicole Patterson serves as Professor and Program Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at Central Penn College, where she has taught since 2006 and assumed directorship in 2014. Her instructional responsibilities include Modalities, Therapeutic Exercise, and PTA Procedures, emphasizing hands-on learning and real-world clinical application to prepare students for professional practice.
Dr. Patterson holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University (2002), complemented by a Post-Graduate Certificate in Health Care Education from Washburn University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mt. St. Mary’s University. Her clinical foundation spans aquatic therapy, women's health, and lymphedema treatment, which she integrates into pedagogical approaches.
Her teaching philosophy centers on active student engagement, asserting that 'involving students' cultivates deeper understanding and professional passion. As PTA Program Director, she oversees curriculum development, student internships, and program administration, having previously served five years as internship coordinator to bridge academic training with clinical experience.
