Nicole Kornet

Dr. Nicole Kornet is an Associate Professor in legal education and private law at Maastricht University's Faculty of Law. She holds leadership roles as Director of Studies for the European Law School bachelor programme and Educational Director of the Maastricht Institute for Legal Education (MILE). Her career spans 25 years, combining teaching in contract/commercial law with educational innovation. She redesigned curricula for Dutch and European law programmes, emphasizing professional development tracks and transformative legal education. Key roles include programme coordination, accreditation work, and teacher professionalisation initiatives. Research focuses on legal education's societal impact, particularly培养具有自我意识、勇气和韧性的“勇敢的法律学生” (brave law students). She supervises PhD fellows and collaborates internationally, including as a visiting professor in Suriname.
