معرفی
Nicole Jones is a Casual Academic and PhD researcher at the University of Southern Queensland, affiliated with the School of Health and Medical Sciences and the Centre for Health Research. Her academic journey began as a secondary educator in Physics and Mathematics before transitioning to higher education and biomechanics research. She holds a Master of Science (Distinction) in Sport & Exercise from USQ, recognized with the Dean’s Commendation for academic excellence.
Education:
- BSc in Queensland (1990)
- PGDipEd in Queensland (1992)
- MSc (Distinction) in Sport & Exercise from USQ (2020)
Research Focus: Nicole’s work centers on biomechanics, particularly exercise-induced muscle damage, neurophysiological adaptations, and muscle-tendon mechanics. Her current doctoral research examines triceps surae strength protocols and contralateral repeated bout effects, aiming to enhance rehabilitation and athletic performance. Methodologies include electromyography (EMG), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and ultrasonography.
Teaching Contributions: Nicole teaches biomechanics and motor control at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, integrating research into curricula as a sessional lecturer. Courses include SES1002, SES2202, and SES6001.
Awards:
- Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence (USQ, 2020)
Collaborations & Goals: Collaborates with national/international researchers. Aims to bridge biomechanics research into practical applications in technique enhancement and rehabilitation. Committed to advancing evidence-based education through roles like Associate Fellow of AdvanceHE.
