Ben Hoffman

Dr. Ben Hoffman is a Senior Lecturer in Biomechanics at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Health and Medical Sciences. He is based at the Ipswich Campus and holds qualifications including a BAppSc(Hons), GCertHigherEd, MPhil, and PhD, all from Queensland institutions. His research focuses on muscle mechanics in sport and exercise, exercise-induced muscle damage, and ultrasonography.

• Teaching: Currently teaches SES2202 Biomechanics and has 11 years of tertiary teaching experience.
• Supervision: Research supervisor in Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Motor Control, and Sports Science and Exercise.
• Professional Memberships: Member of the International Society of Biomechanics and the Australian & New Zealand Society of Biomechanics.

His research topics include the functional significance of inspiratory muscle training, mechanisms of exercise limitation in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and respiratory limitations to exercise in endurance-trained older adults.
