Nicole Harder is a Professor and Associate Dean (Undergraduate) at the College of Nursing, University of Manitoba, where she also holds the Mindermar Professorship in Human Simulation within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. She is a leading scholar in healthcare simulation pedagogy and conducts interdisciplinary research focused on enhancing both technical and non-technical skills in health professionals and students.
Her research interests include psychologically safe debriefing, culturally diverse simulation experiences to address racism, and developing resilience in new healthcare practitioners. Dr. Harder primarily uses qualitative and mixed-methods approaches to evaluate simulation interventions. She has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in nursing and simulation education.
Dr. Harder has received numerous awards recognizing her leadership and excellence in nursing and simulation education. She has held significant editorial roles, including Editor-in-Chief Emerita of Clinical Simulation in Nursing and current Editor-in-Chief of Simulation in Healthcare. She is actively involved in national and international simulation networks and contributes to simulation educator training through the Canadian Association for Schools of Nursing.

She also contributes to professional development through her role in the Simulation Nurse Educator certificate program.
She is a former board member of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) and the Réseau Simulation Canada Network, reflecting her national and international leadership in simulation education.
