Nicole Garcia is an Intermittent Lecturer in Teacher Education and Associate Director at TeachingWorks, part of the University of Michigan’s School of Education. She focuses on practice-based approaches to K-12 teacher training, particularly in mathematics. Her roles include strategic planning for K-12 partnerships and designing professional development programs for teachers.
Garcia holds a BS and MA in Mathematics Education from the University of Michigan. Her research emphasizes improving teaching practices through practice-intensive training, including the NSF-funded Organizing to Learn Practice Project and directing the Elementary Mathematics Laboratory.
She has led projects such as state-wide education initiatives and professional development for K-12 mathematics teachers.
