Nicole Farach

Nicole Farach serves as the Director of Mathematics at TeachingWorks, part of the University of Michigan's School of Education. She oversees a team of research specialists and doctoral students engaged in curriculum development, professional development, and research in teacher education and mathematics education. Her work focuses on improving outcomes for learners, particularly in early childhood and under-resourced communities.

• Education: MA in Child Development from Sarah Lawrence College; BA in Sociology and Social Psychology from Lehigh University

Her research interests include teacher preparation, mathematics instruction, and strategies for fostering collaborative and reflective learning environments. She has collaborated with institutions such as Bank Street College of Education, MDRC, and the City University of New York (CUNY), contributing to initiatives like pre-K math coaching and curriculum design for children in poverty-stricken areas.

Nicole has extensive experience in teacher training, professional development, and educational policy. She has taught graduate courses at CUNY’s School of Professional Studies and Hunter College, emphasizing active learning and material engagement.
