Nicole Valkenburg serves as Adjunct Faculty in the Education Program at Gannon University, teaching GEDU 567: STEM Learning and Assessment. She concurrently holds the position of Curriculum Director at Old Forge School District and participates in the PennSEL Network for the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6) with Political Science minor from University of Scranton, Master of Science in Science Education from Walden University, STEM Endorsement from Wilkes University, and Supervisory Certificate in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University.
With 19 years of elementary classroom experience across grades 2-4, she specialized in science education as Elementary Science Coordinator and STEM Instructional Coach. Her research interests emphasize practical STEM integration in elementary settings, evidenced by her role as field test teacher for OpenSciEd elementary curriculum and collaborative development of Gannon University's STEM Endorsement program.
She actively contributes to district, local, and state-level STEM committees while balancing curriculum leadership responsibilities at Old Forge School District. Her professional focus bridges classroom practice with program development in science education.
