Nicole Eaton is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Boston College. Her research focuses on modern European, Russian/Soviet, and German/East Central European history, with a specialization in the Second World War, everyday life in authoritarian regimes, and micro-historical approaches. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California.

Her first major work, German Blood, Slavic Soil (2023), examines the transformation of Königsberg into Kaliningrad during and after WWII. Current research explores environmental history and the intersection of disease with toxic legacies in 20th-century Eurasia.
Her publications include analyses of Soviet annexation strategies, wartime displacement, and comparative studies of authoritarian systems. She has been a fellow at institutions like the Harriman Institute (Columbia University) and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
