Nicole Brownlie

Dr. Nicole Brownlie is a Lecturer in Education at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Education. Her research focuses on preserving teacher professional judgment and wellbeing through ethical AI integration in assessment practices, particularly in primary and secondary education. She holds qualifications including a PhD from USQ and has been employed since 2013.

Education background: BFET, BEd, MEd, and PhD, all from the University of Southern Queensland.

Research interests include AI in education, assessment literacy, teacher preparation, policy-practice alignment, school transitions, and guidance counselors' roles in supporting vulnerable students. She actively contributes to national/international dialogues on these topics and publishes in education policy and teacher professional learning journals.
