Nicola Lasikiewicz is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Chester's Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. A Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, her research examines the biopsychology of stress responses and their impact on health, cognition, and wellbeing.
Research investigates how stress influences cognitive performance in obese populations, psychological benefits of weight loss interventions, and potential stress-buffering effects of paranormal beliefs. Recent work explores impacts of wearable technology on physical activity and workplace wellbeing.
Teaching focuses on biological psychology, cognitive psychology, and research methodology. Serves as Programme Leader for the MSc Psychology (Conversion) programme and contributes to anomalistic psychology curriculum.
External roles include examiner positions at Bournemouth University and University of Derby, and previous service on Athena SWAN panels.
