Dr. Nicola Acevedo is a Research Fellow at Swinburne University of Technology's School of Health Sciences, with expertise in clinical neuroscience and neurostimulation therapies for psychiatric disorders. She holds a BSc (Hon) from Monash University and a PhD from Swinburne University. Her research focuses on obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) treatment innovations, including deep brain stimulation (DBS), psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, and neuroethical considerations in neuromodulation. Dr. Acevedo also serves as Clinical Trial Coordinator and Director of BioAutism, advocating for accessible, patient-centered mental health interventions. She actively collaborates with organizations like the Australasian Brain Stimulation Society (ABSS).
