Nico Richter serves as a Professor at the School of Architecture and Construction, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, where he contributes to the Civil Engineering (B.Eng.) program and energy-efficient construction initiatives. Research interests center on Civil Engineering and Sustainable Building, with emphasis on energy-efficient construction methodologies (E2D program), concrete engineering applications, and international design-build projects. The school actively pursues climate-resilient infrastructure development and innovative material solutions through hands-on student projects.
Professor Richter supervises key practical initiatives including the Betonkanu concrete canoe competition and design-build projects in Uganda, providing students with experiential learning opportunities. Current research directions focus on CO2-optimized building materials, recycling construction models, and sustainable urban development solutions within the school's applied research framework.
