Andreas Meichsner is a Professor at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences within the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering. His academic work spans architecture and civil engineering programs including bachelor's and master's degrees in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Digital Construction Management, and Energy-Efficient Planning and Building (E2D).
Research activities in his faculty focus on sustainable construction methodologies, with emphasis on CO2-optimized building techniques, timber-concrete composites, and climate-resilient infrastructure. Current projects include Project_M3 for CO2 balance assessment, Betonkanu student competitions, and international design-build initiatives like Planting Future in Uganda.
The faculty maintains extensive practical facilities including wood workshops, 3D printing labs, and laser cutting equipment to support hands-on learning. It actively participates in international collaborations through ERASMUS+ and field projects across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Professional development opportunities are offered through THA_akademie with part-time certificates in facade engineering, interior construction, and timber building. Student engagement extends to competitions like Egg Drop Contest 2025 and Kantezone in Copenhagen, demonstrating the faculty's commitment to practical innovation.
