Dr Nico Ochmann is a Lecturer in Economics at Manchester Metropolitan University's Business School, affiliated with the Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity (CoDE) at the University of Manchester. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester, alongside a Master’s from Montana State University and a Bachelor’s from the University of Washington.
His research focuses on Labour Economics, Immigration, Ethnicity, and advanced Econometric methods. Recent work examines ethnic wage gaps among UK immigrants, socio-economic disparities during crises, and flexible employment contracts' impact on inequality.
Teaching includes Econometrics modules and supervision of undergraduate and MSc dissertations in Applied Economics. He is a member of the Royal Economic Society and American Economic Association.
