Nicki Credland is a Senior Lecturer in Secondary, Emergency, and Urgent Care at the School of Health and Life Sciences (SHLS), Teesside University. She is a Fellow of the British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN), Chair of the UK Critical Care Nursing Alliance (UKCCNA), and Co-Chair of the Critical Care National Education Review Forum (CCNERF). Her roles include Nurse Advisor to the Department of Health Clinical Reference Group and Specialist Advisor to NHS England.

Nicki’s research focuses on critical care nursing, emergency care education, and workforce wellbeing. Her recent work explores restorative supervision for staff mental health, burnout prevention, and systemic approaches to nursing workforce retention. She has led national curriculum development and pandemic-era healthcare education initiatives.
Her publications (2024) span mental health interventions, clinical nursing procedures, and workforce retention strategies. Themes include empathy in healthcare, autonomy, and restorative clinical supervision. She contributed to the Critical Care Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures, emphasizing evidence-based practice.
