Professor Nick Prior is a faculty member at the University of Edinburgh, holding the position of Professor of Cultural Sociology within the School of Social and Political Science. His research focuses on intersections between popular music, digital culture, cultural theory, and Japanese pop culture, with a strong emphasis on Pierre Bourdieu's sociological frameworks. He explores technological mediations in music production, urban sociology, and the evolution of cultural practices in the digital age.
