Nick Hayes is a Senior Lecturer at Otis College of Art and Design, where he teaches Game Design and Game Theory in the Toy Design program. Concurrently, he serves as Key Lead Product Designer at Mattel, managing the development of new product lines and high-profile game SKUs. He has been teaching since 2018 and working in the toy industry since 2011, with prior experience at Spin Master and the U.S. Army.

BFA in Toy Design with Honors from Otis College of Art and Design
Research Focus: Hayes specializes in creating emotive player experiences through integrated physical components, artwork, narrative, and rules. His work explores how game mechanics influence player psychology and social dynamics, with emphasis on accessibility, thematic immersion, and cross-generational engagement in tabletop games.
