Nick Grey is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sussex's School of Psychology and a Clinical Research and Training Fellow at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT). He chairs SPFT’s Mood and Anxiety Clinical Academic Group and serves as Clinical Lead for CAGs, focusing on developing evidence-based care pathways. He also leads psychology and psychological therapies training across SPFT. Previously, he was Joint Clinical Director at the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. His clinical work spans primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings.
Research interests include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), PTSD and traumatic stress reactions, anxiety disorders, and the dissemination of evidence-based mental health practices. He collaborates with the Wellcome Trust Anxiety Disorders Group led by David Clark and Anke Ehlers.
He is a Fellow of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies and an accredited CBT practitioner, supervisor, and trainer. His publications include seminal works on trauma therapy and CBT techniques. He contributes to academic and clinical communities through editorial roles and training initiatives.
Grey’s work bridges clinical practice and research, emphasizing practical implementation of psychological interventions. He is actively involved in NHS service development and academic collaboration, particularly in mental health innovation.
