Nick Estes is an Assistant Professor in American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota. His research examines colonialism, decolonization, and Indigenous resistance, particularly through interdisciplinary frameworks connecting historical analysis with contemporary social movements. He co-hosts The Red Nation podcast and edits for Red Media.
Research Focus: Primary interests include Indigenous sovereignty, racial capitalism, and environmental justice, with emphasis on Oceti Sakowin histories and anti-pipeline activism.
