Nick Clifton is a Professor of Economic Geography & Regional Development at Cardiff University's Cardiff School of Management, serving as REF Co-ordinator. He is affiliated with the Creative Leadership and Enterprise Centre (CLEC) and the Regional Innovation & Regeneration Centre (RIRC). His research focuses on SME knowledge networks, devolution policies, creative class dynamics, regional branding, co-working spaces, and Circular Economy innovation. He has published over 140 academic contributions and secured £1.2m+ in research funding from bodies like ESRC and Innovate UK.
**Research Interests**: His work spans international knowledge sourcing by SMEs, Circular Economy policy, interregional innovation systems, and creative industry spatial dynamics.
