Nick Admussen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Asian Studies at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. His work bridges Chinese literature, translation studies, and literary theory, with a focus on contemporary poetry and cross-cultural interpretation.

Admussen's research employs close reading, translation, and sociological methods to develop interpretive frameworks for understanding contemporary Chinese poetry. His first book, Recite and Refuse: Contemporary Chinese Prose Poetry (2016), examines prose poetry's role in redefining literary and political boundaries. He is currently researching the poetics of stricture in contemporary China.
Recent publications include translations like Floral Mutter (2020) and scholarly essays on network analysis, hermeneutic viruses, and embodiment in translation. His creative work spans poetry collections such as Stand Back, Don't Fear the Change (2019) and climate-themed reformist proposals.
