Nicholas Morrow Williams is Associate Professor of Chinese Literature and Faculty Head of the East & Southeast Asian Section in the School of International Letters and Cultures at Arizona State University. He specializes in classical Chinese poetry with research spanning medieval Buddhism, Sino-Japanese literary exchange, and translation theory.
His scholarly output includes the monograph Chinese Poetry as Soul Summoning (2022) and translations like Elegies of Chu for Oxford World's Classics. As editor of Tang Studies, he contributes significantly to the field of premodern Chinese literature.
