Nicholaus Meyers

Dr. Nicholaus Meyers serves as Director of Bands and Percussion and Chair of the Department of Performing Arts at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, holding the academic rank of Associate Professor of Music. He directs the ECU “Pride of Tigerland” marching band, wind ensemble, and percussion ensemble while teaching applied percussion, conducting, and music education courses.

His educational background includes:

• Master of Music from the University of Tennessee
• Bachelor of Music from Augusta State University

Dr. Meyers' creative scholarship centers on percussion performance, contemporary composition, and band conducting. With over 70 original compositions and 30 arrangements performed internationally, his work explores innovative ensemble techniques and modern percussion literature, significantly contributing to music education and performance practices.

His 2024 compositions demonstrate consistent focus on contemporary percussion and band works, with pieces like “The Day I Left” and “Autumn in Rothenberg” performed across major U.S. venues, reflecting his dedication to advancing educational and professional percussion repertoire.
