Nicholas Trygstad is a Tutor in Cello at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), where he combines teaching with an active career as a performer. A native of Minnesota, USA, he studied at RNCM under Hannah Roberts and Ralph Kirshbaum. After graduation, he held principal cello positions with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, the Hallé Orchestra, and guest roles with leading ensembles such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
