Dr Nicholas Troop is a Chartered Psychologist and Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire's Department of Psychology, Sport and Geography. He co-founded the Psycho-Haematology Research Unit with Dr Sandra Van Os and Dr Helen Ellis-Caird, focusing on psychological aspects of blood disorders like haemophilia and sickle cell disease. His research spans eating disorders, self-compassion interventions, and the role of music in well-being.

- Psychological factors in haemophilia management (adherence, pain, quality of life)
- Self-compassion promotion through expressive writing
