Nicholas Sanders is an Associate Professor in Cornell University's Department of Economics with joint affiliation at the Brooks School of Public Policy. His research examines environmental policy, regulation, environmental quality, health, and human behavior, with particular focus on applied microeconomics and environmental economics.
His work analyzes how environmental factors like pollution impact public health outcomes, housing markets, and educational achievement. Sanders serves as Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and has contributed to policy discussions on air quality controls and climate change through research featured in The New York Times, The Economist, and NPR.
He teaches courses including Introductory Microeconomics and Economics of Environmental Policy, and holds a PhD from University of California, Davis (2010).
