Nicholas Rajkovich

Dr. Nicholas Rajkovich is an Associate Professor in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University at Buffalo and Research Associate Professor in Environment and Sustainability. He holds a PhD in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and professional architecture degrees.

Research Focus

His work addresses climate adaptation in built environments, specializing in thermal resilience, building performance simulation, and socio-technical responses to extreme weather. Current projects include developing weather files for climate-resilient design and analyzing adaptation-mitigation tradeoffs.

Teaching & Practice

Teaches courses on passive house design, environmental systems, and sustainability capstones. Integrates research on urban heat vulnerability into community-engaged design studios.
