Nicholas Juravich is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at UMass Boston and serves as the Associate Director of the Labor Resource Center. His research and teaching focus on labor history, public history, urban history, and the history of education and social movements in the twentieth-century United States.
Education:
- PhD in History from Columbia University
- MPhil in Economic and Social History from the University of Oxford
- BA in History from the University of Chicago
Juravich’s research explores the intersection of community organizing, public education, and labor movements in U.S. cities. His publications highlight histories of labor activism, urban development, public housing struggles, and paraprofessional educators. He is currently finalizing his first book, The Work of Education, which examines community-based educators’ roles in schools and freedom struggles.
