Nicholas Jacobs is an Assistant Professor of Government at Colby College, specializing in federalism, rural politics, and American political development. He serves as the Inaugural Director of Colby’s Public Policy Lab, integrating his research into institutional initiatives. Jacobs teaches courses including Introduction to American Government and Politics (GO111), Comparative Federalism (GO218), and advanced seminars on constitutional reform (GO417).
His research examines the rural-urban divide, the evolution of federalism, and shifts in the American party system. He has published extensively in journals like Perspectives on Politics, Publius: The Journal of Federalism, and Studies in American Political Development.
