Larry Jacobs is Walter F. and Joan Mondale Chair for Political Studies and McKnight Presidential Professor at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota. His research examines American political development, health care reform, and democratic institutions.
Jacobs directs the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance, hosting public forums with policymakers and scholars. His recent work analyzes threats to democratic norms and the political dynamics of health policy implementation.
Elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he contributes to national policy debates through media commentary and congressional testimony. Graduate teaching focuses on American political institutions and public policy processes.
