Nicholas J Seiter is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and the Department of Crop Sciences. He also holds an affiliation with the Department of Entomology and a Research Assistant Professor position at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA).
His research focuses on agricultural entomology, insect pest management, and computational biology. Key areas include Bt crop resistance monitoring, cover crop integration in farming systems, and innovative teaching methods using 3D modeling for insect identification.
Recent publications highlight his work on rootworm resistance in Bt maize, potato leafhopper surveillance, and cover crop impacts on soybean yields. These studies span subfields like insecticide resistance mechanisms, agricultural sustainability, and digital education tools.
As a faculty member, Seiter actively contributes to interdisciplinary research and teaching, combining traditional entomological approaches with computational analytics through his NCSA affiliation.
