Nicholas Hauck is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Brock University. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto. His research focuses on translation as an embodied practice, eco-poetics, and the intersections between text, performance, and environment. He co-founded the Toronto Experimental Translation Collective (2020) and co-edits Brock’s Small Walker Press.
Education: PhD in French from the University of Toronto.
Research interests include ontophonics, zoopoetics, and the application of translation theory across disciplines. Current projects involve ornithography and comparative studies of Korean poetry translations. He teaches courses on translation, French literature, and language.
Research affiliations include the Toronto Experimental Translation Collective, Association des professeur.e.s de français des universités et collèges canadiens, and Conseil International d’Études Francophones.
