Nicholas E. Grant is an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on advancing silicon photovoltaic materials, energy storage systems, metamaterials, and surface passivation techniques using atomic layer deposition (ALD). He holds a PhD in Photovoltaic Engineering from the Australian National University (2012) and a BSc (Honours) in Physics from the University of Adelaide (2007).
Research Interests:
- Development of surface layers to enhance interfacial properties in high-efficiency silicon PV devices
- Mitigation of light-induced defects in gallium-doped silicon materials
- Application of ALD for depositing dielectric coatings on 2D materials like MoS2
- THz metamaterials and silicon-based photomodulators
- Electrochemical performance of silicon electrodes in lithium-ion batteries
