Nicholas Boaz is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at North Central College in Naperville, IL. He teaches both Organic and General Chemistry courses. Dr. Boaz completed his B.S. in Chemistry (ACS Certified) at Lebanon Valley College in 2010, followed by a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from Princeton University.
His research specializes in organic synthesis methodologies with focus areas including:
- Development of radical catalysis techniques
- Carbon-heteroatom bond formation strategies
- Educational laboratory design simulating drug metabolism pathways
Dr. Boaz leads a research group established in December 2015 with four student members: Kelsey (carboxylic acid transformations), Donovan, Amanda, and Haley (joint educational chemistry project).
