Nicholas Baltas

Professor Nicholas Baltas is affiliated with the Athens University of Economics and Business as a faculty member in the Department of Economics under the School of Economic Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Birmingham and has held leadership roles such as Head of Department (1999-2003) and Vice President of the Center of Greek Public Enterprises (2005-).

Research Interests span Microeconomic Theory, European Economic Integration, Agricultural Economics, and Finance. His work includes participation in over 100 scientific conferences and advisory roles for the European Commission and Greek Ministry of Agriculture.

Scientific Awards include the Jean Monnet Chair, British Council scholarship, and Fulbright scholarship. He has also served as a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University and Visiting Professor at the University of Montpellier I.

Leadership Roles include Chairman of Hellenic Railways (2004-2007) and Senior Economist at the Agricultural Bank of Greece (1976-1986).
