Nic Flores

Nic Flores is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and the Department of Latina/Latino Studies. His research intersects public health, gender and sexuality studies, and comparative ethnic studies, focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention and queer of color critique.

His work integrates ethnography and feminist science studies to explore intersections of race, gender, and affective registers of intimacy.

His recent publications analyze PrEP adoption, queer sexual practices, and transdisciplinary mentoring models. These works reflect a commitment to health equity and intersectional frameworks.

Dr. Flores co-hosts the podcast Learning on the Job and co-leads the Writing in Depth: An Academic Writing Retreat at Hope Springs Institute, emphasizing collaborative academic practices.
