Ng Oon Tek

Associate Professor Ng Oon Tek is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Infectious Diseases, National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID)/Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He also serves as Head of the Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory, Chair of the NCID Quality & Safety Unit, Director of the AMR Coordinating Office (AMRCO) under the Communicable Disease Centre, and Associate Professor at LKC School of Medicine, NTU.

His research integrates public health, laboratory medicine, and clinical medicine to improve patient outcomes, focusing on antimicrobial resistance (particularly carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative infections) and emerging infectious diseases. He leads a genomics group at NCID using whole-genome sequencing and metagenomic approaches for AMR research and pathogen discovery.
