Martin Chio

Martin Chio is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), holding joint appointments in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (Secondary) and Duke-NUS Medical School (Primary). He is also a Senior Consultant Dermatologist at the National Skin Centre, Singapore. His academic roles include clinical teaching and research across multiple institutions, including Lee Kong Chian-Imperial School of Medicine and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Qualifications include MB ChB from the University of Bristol (1997), MRCP (UK) (2002), MSc and Dip LSHTM (2007) with NMRC Research Fellowship, and FRCP (London) (2013). His research focuses on STI epidemiology, qualitative methods, and sexual health among MSM populations.

He has held clinical roles as a Visiting Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Infectious Diseases unit, SAF Medical Corps, Dover Park Hospice, and Villa Francis. His career spans clinical practice, medical education, and public health research, with affiliations spanning NUS, Duke-NUS, and multiple healthcare institutions.
