LEO Yee Sin

Prof LEO Yee Sin is a Clinical Professor at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Executive Director of the National Centre for Infectious Diseases. She holds adjunct roles at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. With over 300 publications, her work focuses on HIV, emerging infections, and pandemic response. She led Singapore's responses to Nipah, SARS, Zika, and current Covid-19 outbreaks, earning a Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2020.

Her research integrates clinical practice with public health policy, emphasizing emerging infections and pandemic preparedness. Recent work includes defining SARS-CoV-2 viral dynamics and developing therapeutic guidelines for severe cases. She also chairs critical committees on bioterrorism threats and mortality reviews.

Prof Leo's leadership spans multiple institutions: Director of the Institute of Infectious Diseases & Epidemiology, Head of the Communicable Diseases Centre, and Principal Investigator for national disease control programs. Her advisory roles include guiding Singapore's clinical management of Covid-19 and evaluating vaccine efficacy.

She mentors junior doctors and actively participates in global health initiatives through WHO guideline panels and international advisory boards. Her team operates Travellers' Health Vaccination Clinics and led Singapore's first Monkeypox case management in 2019.
