Neşe Devenot, PhD (she/they) serves as a Senior Lecturer in the University Writing Program at Johns Hopkins University and contributes to Psychedelic Studies since 2010. They maintain affiliations with The Ohio State University’s Center for Psychedelic Drug Research and Education (CPDRE), the Intercollegiate Psychedelics Network (IPN), the Psychedelic Educators Network (PEN), Psymposia, and The Project on Psychedelics Law and Regulation (POPLAR) as an Affiliated Researcher.
Their educational background includes a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and a postdoctoral fellowship in Bioethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Devenot’s research critically examines narrative structures in psychedelic experiences through interdisciplinary lenses of health humanities, psychedelic bioethics, and neuroethics. Their forthcoming book with Columbia University Press analyzes literary devices in altered states of consciousness, reflecting their commitment to humanistic approaches in psychedelic science.
