Nezihe Tekman is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Reading and a Lecturer/LLB Coordinator in the International Law Department at Near East University, Cyprus. She specializes in Consumer Law, Contract Law, and the intersection of AI with legal frameworks. Her research focuses on vulnerable consumer protection, particularly within European Union directives and cross-border legal challenges.
Education: LLB (North Cyprus, 2009), LLM in Commercial Law (University of Bristol, UK), PhD in Consumer Law (University of Hull, UK) with a Postgraduate Diploma in Research Training.
Research Interests: Vulnerability theory in consumer protection, AI's role in legal redress mechanisms, cross-border consumer disputes, and gender perspectives in consumer rights. She actively contributes to policy discussions, including her 2023 appointment to Cyprus' Consumer Arbitration Board.
Publications span peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, addressing topics like unfair contract terms, consumer arbitration, and legal frameworks for vulnerable groups. She has presented globally, including at Emory Law School and the International Association of Consumer Law.
